The IMA consists of members of "like precious faith" who have joined with other ministers to form a spiritual alliance of love and mutual faith. Members are encouraged to become active in the association, accountable in ministry, and to freely share resources with one another. Each member receives the benefit of a ministerial license, the opportunity to pursue ordination, and the potential for their church to receive Tax-Exemption from the Federal Government.
The IMA offers Lead Pastors, who are IMA members in good standing, the opportunity to apply for their churches to be Associate Churches of the IMA. The purpose of this covering is that your church would come under the IMA's Group Exemption 501c3, which offers Tax Exemption. IMA Members are not required to associate their churches with the IMA, it is simply a service we offer to support our members.
To support our members, the IMA actively seeks to compile and share resources that are excellent and trustworthy. These resources will be like "rivers in the desert" - providing the right enrichment, to the right members, when and where they need it most. One example of a great resource is the annual National Conference.
There are also District Conferences held throughout the year. These are wonderful times of refreshing in the Lord and the fellowship of our brothers and sisters. Like "rivers in the wilderness" - they allow God to continue to do "something new" in us. Reach out to your District Chairman to find out more about these conferences!
Now that you have learned a little bit about who we are and what we do, consider contacting our Home Office. The IMA Home Office is managed by our Member Services Coordinator, Josiah Hodgett. He can answer any questions that you have and connect you with the right people to get the application process started.
